On Thursday The Orlando Millennial readers were invited to an advanced screening of Tom Cruise's new movie, "MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - DEAD RECKONING PART ONE." John and I attended the screening --he had seen all of the other Mission: Impossible movies but to be very honest, I had not seen any of the other movies before this one. We saw the movie in Dolby Cinema, which is always a great experience and something I highly recommend for this film. The movie is pretty long at about 2 hours and 40 minutes, however, there was never a moment where I felt like "is it over yet?" or noticed the time going dragging - each moment was used well. Spoiler-free thoughts: The movie was full of action packed scenes, gorgeous locations, and some humor. For someone like me that had not seen any of the previous movies, I still could easily follow along and be invested in the movie, without feeling lost or like I was missing anything. I really liked the diversity of the different characters in the movie and that there were a lot of leading women in the movie as well. It was pretty amazing to me that in his 60s, Cruise is still doing all of this stunt too - very impressive. There were some moments I got some Thanos vibes from the "villain" of the movie, but that could have just been me. As this was a part one, I think it is without spoilers to say that the movie left off with a slight cliffhanger, but one that leaves you excited for more. I am looking forward to the next one and to see where this story leads. More Information: MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - DEAD RECKONING PART ONE is only in theaters starting July 12th, 2023 and will be available in Dolby Cinema, Premium large formats, and IMAX.
